1.)What’s a typical day like for the band Word Spit?
A typical day for the band and I would be rehearsing for a gig and brain storming new songs in the studio. We link up often to figure out the next moves we should make. It's a real fun experience when we aren't arguing over the parts to our songs. LoL
2.) Ok so of course I was watching America’s Got Talent and I must say you all did an excellent job.
You all definitely was the [Illest]. Congratulations for making it through the auditions on that show. How was it like performing and preparing for the show as a band for America’s Got Talent?
Thank You. The preperation was extreme because I strive for greatness and nothing less. I tend to push people to their limits. Whether you love it or hate it, you respect it. As far as the show, it's a mix of emotions because you're nervous, excited, and uncertain as to what's going to happen when you take the stage. Performing in front of a sold out crowd is one thing, but to know that you're also rocking for millions of people at home can be stressful. I think we handled it well.
4.) What artist(s) would WordSpit like to work with in the future?
Oh man, I would love to work with too many. Pink Floyd, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Nas, Natalia Kills, Lady Gaga, 30 seconds to Mars, Lupe, Pharrell... the list goes on.
5.) How did you all come up with the band name?
My name is "WordSpit The ILLest!" so it's a basic play off of that. It was simple and it made sense.
6.) What is it like going out and performing and how do you all handle the stress of the music industry?
Well, every performance has it's unique texture to it. Especially being an artist on the come up. You have days where you're performing in front of thousands and then there are days when you are performing for ten people. I try to attack each show with the same intensity no matter what. As far as the music industry, it's a consistent hassel because you always have to prove yourself. Even when you think you've accomplished something great you have to remember that that's only a stepping stone in the grand scheme of things. I always remember that and it brings me back to earth. It makes me work harder.
7.) What is a quote that you all live by?
"We The ILLest!!" It's my way a life. It reminds me to always give 110%. I don't care if you're straight, gay, working at the drive in, or sweeping the floor... if you give your all, you're "The ILLest"!
8.) What is some music that inspires you all?
We all get influenced by different things, which creates the sound of WordSpit & The ILLest! Whether it's Metal, Jazz, Hip-Hop or R&B. We could sit here for hours discussing this question, lol.
9.) What kind of audience is WordSpit music geared towards?
My audience is the people who aren't scared to be themselves and that's why we relate. My audience knows this isn't just a guy holding a mic rapping about nonsense. I'm giving you my life in my songs. I cater to the people who are looking for change and want something different. I have the skills to appeal to the traditional hiphop listener but I also have the accompanying music to catch the ear of the fan who wouldn't oridinarly listen to rap.
