Rapper Jay Flow Discusses His Love For Rap and Plans For Success On The Interview Spot With Jana Pauldo

1.) What is it like balancing a music career and also attending school? How do you make time for both?

Is it very challenging however I find time to record music in between semesters. School 1st music second but I love music and its my passion in addition to writing.

2.) What do you feel is the most pressing or important problem in our society now, and do you feel as though your experience so far as an artist has aided or complicated your involvement in these issues?

The media is the most important problem and with my music and stories I address stories about my life growing up addressing your opinion with factual information will inform others about whats going in society.

3.) What is a celebrity's role or responsibility—if any—for being a vehicle for social change?

Creating movements to enhance people to come together to chase and accomplish goals human beings have sent for themselves to reach their pursuit of happiness.

4.) Growing up you mentioned you found life difficult, how did writing music change that for you and what difficulties/challenges did you face?

Writing was a way that I expressed myself and I would write short stories and poems and one day I started writing raps. Coming up as an artist I had to find myself and what my message was going to be and overtime I found my style and sound and am well on my way to becoming successful.

5.) Right now, who would you look up to? Who do you think is a real game-changer in the music industry?

I would look up to J. Cole Drake and Wale. As far as artist, I like their styles and their passion for music. They had struggles and talk about similar concepts that i discuss in my music. They connect with their fans and have mindsets to have people understand them beyond their music.

6.) What is it like recording in the studio? Should believe the hype of the work or is it not as perceived from your experiences?

I love recording in the studio its like my second home. I love recording new material. Promotion is needed to build hype for a mixtape or album because you want to have people guessing what your next move is as an artist. You can never promote to much and networking is important in order to be successful as an artist.

7.) How does your music differ from other rappers and why?

My music consists of story telling poetry and deep thoughts about life. I focus on the bigger picture and dig deep into certain subjects more than other rappers and do not talk about money cars and girls all the time. Hip Hop has changed overtime but the basics have not changed.

8.) Where do you see music ten years from now and where do you think you will be as an artist?

I feel that I will be successful and well established and have
several albums recorded and released. I will do more traveling
all over the world and have my movement spread all over.

9.) What are some of the things you like to do when your not recording?

I like to hang out with my friends, go to mall and shop, read books, watch television, and play basketball or football on my down time.

10.) What can we expect from you with your upcoming album?

You can expect well polished production, tracks, nice lyrics and songs from a young African American male from Hyattsville Maryland who is inspired by God family and friends to chase dreams and enjoy life.

11.) I see you do a lot of videos on Youtube, that can be good and bad. How do you take the bluntness of people negative comments or their opinions in general of what your broadcasting?

I use negative comments to my advantage. You can not satisfy everyone and whatever I feel is best for me moving forward. I take all advice into consideration but God, my fmaily and close friends know me best and they are my GPS in order to head in the direction I need to go as far as success.

12.) Tell everyone how to keep up with you and your plans for the future.
